The Burton Demo Tour will be held at Copper’s Burning Stones Plaza from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11 and from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12 and Sunday, Jan. 13.
As part of the Demo Tour, the Burton AM Series will include competitions in Men’s and Women’s Slopestyle and Halfpipe. Men’s and Women’s first place winners in each discipline will receive a wildcard entry into the US Open Snowboarding Championships at Stratton, Vt. in March. Halfpipe and Slopestyle events are open to all USASA Members competing in the Copper Series Group 2 Competition Group. The Slopestyle competitions will be held on Saturday in the Catalyst Terrain Park and the Halfpipe competitions will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13 in Copper’s Main Vein Superpipe. The 2007/08 Burton Demo Tour features 200 stops in the U.S. where riders can test ride the latest Burton Snowboard gear for FREE at their favorite local resort. The Tour also includes the premier 10-stop Super Stops ” 10 weekend-long events with a dedicated sponsor village, after-parties and new this year: either a Learn To Ride (LTR) or Burton AM Series event.
Every stop on the Demo Tour will give riders of all ages the opportunity to try the latest Burton gear at no cost. The hottest Burton boards, boots and bindings for men, women, girls and boys will be available to demo. Riders under the age of 18 will be required to have a parent sign a waiver on their behalf.
Each Super Stop, scheduled throughout the season at 10 select resorts across the U.S., will also include an after-party, and new this year, either a Learn To Ride (LTR) event or the Burton AM Series competition. The LTR component will allow people that have never been snowboarding the opportunity to Learn to Ride for free at select stops. The Burton AM Series gives amateur riders an opportunity to qualify for the US Open Snowboarding Championships held March 17-23, 2008 at Stratton Mountain, Vermont as well as a chance to win over $63,000 in cash and prizes.
The Super Stops are sponsored by Volvo Cars N.A., Emergen-C, Paul Mitchell, GORE-TEX® products and Snowboarder Magazine. A dedicated Super Stop sponsor village will have a huge array of new products for riders to check out, try out and win free gear, including: Volvo’s Swedish product reps showing the new Volvo XC70 Crossover and C30 coupe and giving away Burton snowboards daily; Paul Mitchell’s “Head for Change” booth; Emergen-C’s Feel the Good Lounge with a sweepstakes to win a trip for two to the US Open; Snowboarder Magazine passing out free issues; GORE-TEX® fabric demoing Burton’s line of GORE-TEX® outerwear; R.E.D. helmets for demo and Anon goggles and sunglasses.
