Cops: Drunken driver passed out in accident

AVON, Colorado ” An illegal immigrant hit a fence outside a mobile home, passed out and urinated in his pants during a sobriety test, according to an Avon Police Department report.
The man, 43, of Mexico, crashed a Ford Explorer into a fence, and a witness said he was unconscious when that witness found him May 11.
The man, who smelled like alcohol, had been driving illegally after having had two previous alcohol offenses. He urinated in his pants after he agreed to do a sobriety test, which he failed.
His blood alcohol content was more than three times above the legal limit for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested, and his charges included driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a crash.
Lying, cursing drunken driver arrested after fight
AVON ” A drunken driver told police he wasn’t driving even though he got out of the driver’s seat when he was pulled over, according to an Avon Police Department report.
The driver, 24, and his passenger were reportedly fighting in the parking lot of Denny’s restaurant Thursday. They got into a white van and left.
The driver, who had his windshield wipers on in dry weather, was pulled over and got out of the van. Police told him to get back in the van for their safety.
The man said he’d had a few drinks but that police could never prove that he had been driving.
“I reminded him that I saw him driving and he got out of the driver’s seat,” a police officer wrote in the report.
The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, and he cursed at and insulted the police officer all the way to Eagle County jail.
Drunken man blames bad driving on wind
DOTSERO ” A drunken driver in a pickup truck blamed his swerving on the wind, according to an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office report.
The man, 41, was going east in the right lane on Interstate 70 when he drove over the shoulder and into the left lane in front of a sheriff’s deputy May 11.
The man said he had drank a few beers in Vail. He refused to do a roadside sobriety test because he was going to be arrested anyway, he said.
The man was arrested, and his charges included driving under the influence of alcohol and weaving.
