Cops: Eagle man arrested in sex assault
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY ” A 29-year-old woman reported Feb. 14 that a man had sexually assaulted her in a home in the Red Cliff area, said Detective Tamra Blackard of the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.
Albert A. Quintana, 32, was arrested on suspicion of felony sexual assault and misdemeanor domestic violence on Feb. 16, according to Sheriff’s Office records.
Quintana, who works for a construction company and lives in Eagle, paid a $25,000 bond and was released from the Eagle County jail on Feb. 20, Eagle County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Ramsey said.
Statements Quintana made to investigators Feb. 16 led to his arrest, said Blackard, who would not comment on the domestic violence charge.
Sara Cross, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office, said Quintana had no criminal record in Eagle County.
The woman’s name was not released to protect her identity. No other witnesses were present, Blackard said.
Deena Ezzell, victim’s service coordinator for the Sheriff’s Office, said the alleged victim knew Quintana.
Ezzell said 70 percent of victims nationwide know those who committed the assault. She said she thought the percentage of those in Eagle County who know their attackers is higher.
