EDWARDS, Colorado ” “Lock your vehicle,” is the message the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) wants citizens to hear after a spree of vehicle break-in’s that occurred this week in Edwards.
Two vehicles were reported to have been broken into between Wednesday, Aug. 27 and Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008. All vehicles were parked in residential areas on Homestead Drive and were left unlocked.
Deputies have recovered a bag of miscellaneous items ranging from sunglasses to prescription medications and believe that other vehicles were broken into during that time frame and not reported. Anyone who believes their vehicle was broken into in the Homestead subdivision should call (970) 479-2200 to make a report.
Whether you leave your car for a minute or for several hours, roll up the windows, lock it, and take the key. Keep packages or valuables in the trunk. If you leave anything in the car, make certain it is covered and out of sight.
