Cordillera

Nestled among the mountains at the southern end of Edwards lies Cordillera, a development many consider one of the Vail Valley’s finest golf resort communities. Cordillera is compromised of just over 7,000 acres and is home to four premier golf facilities including three award-winning championship golf courses created by designers Tom Fazio, Hale Irwin and Jack Nicklaus. The fourth Cordillera golf course is a challenging par-3, 10-hole course and practice facility known simply as the Short Course.

While Cordillera has established itself as one of the top-notch golf destinations in the world, the community within Cordillera has quietly made a name for itself as well. With spectacular homes dotting the mountain landscape, Cordillera offers a great escape from the busier towns of Edwards and Avon while remaining just a short drive from both Vail and Beaver Creek.

The signature aspects of Cordillera’s homes are their relationships with the golf courses, the Lodge and Spa, and the White River National Forest. Boasting spectacular views of Vail’s back bowls, the Gore Range, the New York Mountain Range, and enough open space to require binoculars, Cordillera’s homes remain both singular and unobtrusive to golfers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

Owning a home in Cordillera affords recreational activities indicative of the wide variety of terrain within the mountain community. These include hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking and horseback riding on 17 miles of well-maintained trails. Home owners are also eligible to become members of the Club at Cordillera. Club membership includes access to tennis courts, swimming pools, and personal training and general workout facilities. Club members also have the opportunity to receive instruction in golf, tennis, swimming, mountain biking, equestrian, hiking, fly-fishing and sporting clays.

Families and a sense of community are also important parts of the Club at Cordillera’s identity. Children programs are plentiful and include, but are not limited to, camps, theme weeks, field trips, private lessons and birthday parties. Cordillera’s most popular holiday programs include The Members’ Holiday Party and pre-organized events and dinners to celebrate Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Labor Day, the Fourth of July and Memorial Day.

Restaurants include Restaurant Picasso, Chapparal, Timber Hearth Grille and Grouse on the Green. The award-winning Restaurant Picasso is renowned for its European gourmet fare, culinary artistry and extensive wine list; Chapparal is popular for its hearty food, rustic beauty and mountain-casual atmosphere; the Timber Hearth Grille boasts delicious American cuisine prepared with a Western flare; and Grouse on the Green is an authentic Irish pub, perfect for relaxing after a day on the links or slopes. Social gatherings and themed dinners are common each week at one or all of Cordillera’s restaurants.
