Cornmeal stops in at Agave in Avon
AVON, Colorado – Cornmeal, a roots and bluegrass jamband from Chicago, will perform at Agave in Avon tonight. Colorado band WhiteWater Ramble, a quintet that combines elements of mandolin, fiddle, acoustic guitar, upright bass, drums and vocals together, will open the show. Formed over 10 years ago, Cornmeal has grown from humble beginnings into a nationally known band. Ten years together is no simple task these days, especially when the last five have seen the band spending over half the year on the road. Heavily influenced by American roots and folk music, Cornmeal blends fast tempos and tight harmonies into a live performance that continues to expand upon the five-piece acoustic-electric groups’ vast musical repertoire. While steeped in the tradition of the past, Cornmeal continues to forge their own path, pushing the boundaries of bluegrass, Americana and folk. Tickets are $12. Showtime is 10 p.m. and its an age 21-and-over show. Free shuttles will be provided to Eagle-Vail & Avon while TurtleBus will provide rides to Edwards and Vail for just $5. Both shuttles leave 15 minutes after the show. Visit http://www.cornmealinthekitchen.com to learn more about the band.
