Coroner: Men in crash over DUI limit
ACRAIG ” Three men killed when their vehicle plunged 125 feet off a cliff died of head and internal injuries and each had a blood-alcohol level that was over the legal limit for driving, the coroner said.
The men died when a Jeep Cherokee drove off a scenic road above the Sandrocks Nature Trail early on the morning of June 1.
Autopsies conducted Sunday found each man’s blood-acohol was above the 0.08 legal limit for driving, Moffat County Coroner Owen Grant said.
Police identified the victims as Waylon William Owens-Plantiko, 28, David Kim Johnston, 32, and Jaron Earl Green, 31, all of Craig.
Investigators have not released the cause of the accident or said which man was driving.
Police Chief Walt Vanatta said earlier there was no indication the vehicle was traveling fast or erratically.
