Cotton Ranch Metropolitan District Board elections canceled

Vail Daily Staff Report
Vail, CO Colorado

GYPSUM, Colorado –The Cotton Ranch Metropolitan District Board elections were canceled Monday when incumbent Mara Garton dropped out.

Bob Rulon, the only non-incumbent running, assumed her seat. Rulon is employed at Land Title Guarantee in Eagle.

Current board president Chris Meister and Art Hoehn were reinstated. Hoehn is president of the construction company HCB Inc., and Meister is president of the construction company Meister Builders.

Garton was unavailable for comment at press time but her husband, Tim Garton, said she decided not to run “mainly for work-related reasons.” He said she served on the board for 15 years.

Mara Garton works at the Eagle County Regional Airport and also owns a gardening business in Gypsum, Your Personal Garden, which opened about a year ago.
