Cougar Ridge trail restoration project is this weekend near Minturn

MINTURN — Volunteers are needed to help restore a popular area mountain-biking trail this weekend.

The Cougar Ridge Trail restoration will occur Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The trail is part of the Minturn Mile, a popular backcountry trail that leads from Vail’s Back Bowls to Minturn. Unfortunately, some parts of the trail are severely eroded and unsustainable. Volunteers are needed to help restore the trail as a great place to hike, bike and ski. Free meals and camping will be provided.

The minimum age to participate is 14 and there is no experience necessary.
