Eagle County government will join the U.S. government in shutting down for a federal holiday on Friday in honor of former President Ronald Reagan. President Bush declared the holiday on Sunday.”All executive departments, independent establishments and other governmental agencies shall be closed on June 11, 2004 as a mark of respect for Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the United States,” said an executive order issued by Bush. Several town governments are also expected to close. “The County’s essential operations will not be interrupted,” said county Administrator Jack Ingstad. “This includes the airport, landfill, emergency operations and law enforcement.”
