County’s most-wanted nabbed in Indiana
EAGLE COUNTY ” Christopher Watson eluded valley police for more than a year before a tip led authorities to Greendale, Ind., where Eagle County’s most wanted criminal was nabbed for allegedly driving drunk.
Watson, 41, formerly of Vail, is being held in Indiana on a Vail warrant for burglary, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, contempt of court and probation violations, Vail Detective Ryan Millbern said.
Extradition is being worked out between the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and authorities in Indiana.
Watson topped the county’s most-wanted list, but isn’t an arch criminal, sheriff’s spokeswoman Tanny McGinnis said. McGinnis chooses the most-wanted based on the number of warrants and bond amount a person has, she said.
“The 10 most-wanted isn’t based on what level they are a danger to society,” McGinnis said.
