Court delay for accused Colo. school shooter

GOLDEN, Colo. – A man suspected of shooting and wounding two Colorado eighth-graders just after the school day ended wants more time before entering a plea in the case.

Bruco (BROO’-so) Stong Eagle Eastwood appeared in court for a scheduled arraignment Monday but his lawyers asked for more time to review evidence. A judge rescheduled the hearing for July 12.

Eastwood faces several charges, including attempted murder, for the February shooting outside Deer Creek Middle School.

Teachers tackled and restrained him until deputies arrived.

Prosecutors say the 32-year-old told investigators he woke up feeling angry, violent and “transformed upon” the day we went to his former middle school outside Littleton with a hunting rifle.
