Cowboys wearning pink at Eagle rodeo tonight
Eagle, CO Colorado
EAGLE – On Friday, cowboys will gath-er at the Eagle County fairgrounds, show off their expertise with livestock – and sport pink T-shirts.
That’s because Friday is ” Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night at the rodeo.
To show their support for breast cancer awareness, cowboys and cowgirls don pink T-shirts and even spray paint their cowboy boots pink.
An announcement will honor breast cancer survivors. A merchandise tent will raise money for the Shaw Regional Cancer Center in Edwards.
Laurie Asmussen, Eagle County Fair and Rodeo coordinator, said the event is a good partnership between the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo and the cancer center.
“It allows the Shaw center to come out and put up displays and information about what they do in the community,” she said.
Tough Enough to Wear Pink is a nation-al program designed to support research for breast cancer and raise awareness of the disease. Rodeos across the country have embraced the event. The Eagle rodeo has been holding a Tough Enough to Wear Pink night annually for several years.
