EDWARDS — The WinterWonderGrass Festival will host a celebration Thursday at Crazy Mountain Brewing Co. from 5 to 7 p.m., with live music featuring members of the WinterWonderGrass Allstars and a chance to meet the festival producers and drink some Crazy Mountain brews, plus merchandise giveaways and more.
Fans will be able to purchase WinterWonderGrass tickets with no additional service fees at the party, and those who have already bought a ticket can bring their confirmation of purchase and WinterWonderGrass will buy them a beer. Fans who bring a past festival Klean Kanteen mug will also receive one free pint from Crazy Mountain.
WinterWonderGrass Festival, featuring world-class bluegrass, roots and acoustic artists, craft beer and libations, returns to the Vail Valley from Feb. 19 to 21 and features more than 25 bands and 18 Colorado breweries over three days.
WinterWonderGrass recently announced the addition of bluegrass legends Leftover Salmon to the Colorado lineup. For more than 25 years, this band has been delivering authentic, passionate live shows to fans across the country.
The band will perform on the main stage and infiltrate the beer halls, side stages and late nights, delivering spontaneous collaboration with other WinterWonderGrass artists. Leftover Salmon also exemplifies the synergy between bluegrass and craft beer, having released a collaboration brew this past summer with Breckenridge Brewery for its 25th anniversary celebration.
In addition to the festival’s two presenting brew partners, Great Divide Brewing and Crazy Mountain, WinterWonderGrass has announced 18 Colorado breweries that will be pouring their signature brews from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. each day of the festival in the two heated beer tents. Tasting partners include Aspen Brewing Co., Ska Brewing, Oskar Blues Brewery, Odell Brewing Co., Left Hand Brewing, Telluride Brewing Co., Avery Brewing, Vail Brewing Co., Upslope Brewing Co., Mockery Brewing, Bonfire Brewing, Breckenridge Brewery, Roaring Fork Beer Co., Elevation Beer Co., Epic Brewing Co. and Crooked Stave. Both brew tents include side stages surrounded by hay bales and whiskey barrels, hosting raucous bluegrass jams.
All three-day festival tickets include a commemorative festival beer mug, three hours of beer tastings and live music from 3 to 10 p.m. on four stages. Children younger than 12 are free. All tickets are on sale now at http://www.winterwonder grass.com for a limited time.
