Creating Art News News | Mar 9, 2014 Ella Dunn, a fifth grader at Edwards Elementary School works on her mini art museum during Ms. Ikoniakâs art class. First, students learned about Jackson Pollack and created a mini action painting of their own. Then fifth graders learned about Georges Seurat and made a mini pointillism artwork tohang on the wall of their museum. Next, fifth graders learned about a sculptor that is known for his large organically shaped sculptures, Henry Moore. Students used the subtractive sculpting method to create their own organic sculptures. Lastly, our students learned about Alexander Calder and constructed their own mobiles out of wire and paper.
