Creative outlet for all ages in Edwards

Special to the DailyAlpine Arts Center's "Mommy and Me Get Messy" classes begin next week, along with a variety of other fall classes for children, teens and adults.

EDWARDS, Colorado – Alpine Arts Center’s fall schedule includes a dynamic lineup of art classes for all ages, which begins this coming week. Classes such as “Mommy and Me Get Messy,” “Art Sampler” and “The Wild World of Painting” are among the classes being offered for children. Adult classes include “Ceramics Studio,” “Beginning Painting,” “Digital Photography,” “Crochet” and more. The complete class schedule, with more than 30 art offerings, is available at, along with class descriptions and easy online registration.

“We had a great summer and hope to continue the momentum into our fall schedule,” said Lauren Merrill, owner and art instructor at the center. “We brought back our favorite classes from last year but also added many new ones, such as our ‘Kids 3D Extravaganza’ designing snowboards, skateboards, helmets and skis and a new ‘Teen Studio Night’ that meets Wednesday evenings for teenagers.”

In addition to art classes and workshops, Alpine Arts Center will hold monthly art events and gallery openings on Friday evenings. Coming up in September is a “Kids Art Pajama Party” scheduled for Friday, a “Margaritaville” evening planned for adults on Sept. 30 and a gallery fundraiser for Kids Helping Kids on Oct. 7.

Alpine Arts Center also offers kids’ birthday parties, private parties, corporate retreats and community outreach programs. They encourage drop-ins Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for paint your own pottery, use of the ceramics studio and painting and craft activities.
