Crews responded Saturday evening to an active multi-structure fire at the Dotsero Mobile Home Park.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. a Facebook post from Eagle County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that responders were on scene and “all persons have been located.”

The fire continued later into the evening, destroying two homes and multiple vehicles. In a 9:40 p.m. update, the sheriff’s office shared that crews would stay overnight to monitor for flare-ups, and the displaced families “have secured temporary housing,” adding that one pet was found deceased inside one of the affected homes. “Animal Services responded and cared for the animal with respect,” according to the update.

Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including Gypsum Fire, Greater Eagle Fire, Eagle River Fire Protection District, Eagle County Paramedic Services, Eagle Valley Wildland, Carbondale Rural Fire, Glenwood Springs Fire, CDOT Hanging Lake Tunnel Crew, Eagle Police, Vail Dispatch, and Eagle County Animal Services.

Near the same area, two spot fires sparked Sunday morning up the road along I-70 westbound, causing temporary road closures, though responders were able to put those fires out and reopen the interstate within two hours.
