Crime of the month: signs smeared in Eagle

EAGLE – About two dozen signs along Fourth of July Road were splattered with dark brown paint some time over the weekend. The vandalism, which authorities believed occurred between Friday and Monday, is considered the Eagle County Crime Stoppers’ crime of the month. Eagle Open Space Officer Bill Heicher Monday noticed that 22 town regulatory signs located past Fourth of July Road and down into Third Gulch in Eagle had been painted over in dark brown paint. An Eagle Ranch employee said the signs were in good shape on Friday. The total damage is approximately $400. Eagle County Crime Stoppers is searching for information that will lead to the arrest and or indictment of a suspect or suspects involved in this case.
