AVON — A lone gunman robbed a pizza store and fled with a small amount of cash during the early morning hours Tuesday.

Police say the man walked into the Domino’s pizza store around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and threatened two employees with a gun. The two were the only ones in the place, and were closing up, Avon police said.

Brandishing his pistol, the man demanded money. The two employees gave him money from the store’s lockbox, as well as their personal property, and he left the store, police said.

The robber is described as a male of unknown ethnic origin, 20 to 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing 140 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt, an orange bandanna, dark pants, brown possibly suede Converse shoes and had a pistol.

There was also a similar robbery around this time last year at Domino’s, police said. They cannot confirm if it’s the same suspect, although there are similarities in the crimes.
