Police seek man who allegedly groped women

EAGLE COUNTY — The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, Vail Police Department and Avon Police Department are seeking any information that may result in identifying the suspect in three unlawful sexual contact incidents occurring throughout Eagle County.

The first incident occurred on an ECO Transit Bus on Aug. 2 at about 10 a.m. The female victim reported to the bus driver that an unknown male groped her while seated behind her on the bus. The bus was traveling a scheduled route from the Eagle Airport to the town of Vail. The unidentified male quickly left the area. The incident was captured on surveillance video. Vail police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect through an image taken from the video.

The second incident occurred on Aug. 8 around 3:30 p.m. at Walmart in Avon. The victim was standing alone in an aisle when an unidentified male approached her and groped her from behind. The suspect then fled the scene before the victim could report the incident to anyone.

The third incident took place on Aug. 8 shortly after 4 p.m. The victim was shopping at the Village Market in Edwards when an unidentified male walked up, groped her from behind and then fled the scene.

The suspect was described as wearing a ball cap, shorts and a T-shirt at the time of all three incidents.
