Crowds flood Wal-Mart in Avon

Mark Bricklin
Vail, CO Colorado

When the Avon Wal-Mart opened for business Thanksgiving morning, they knew their doors would be open for 41 consecutive hours. The store stayed open all night but the “Black Friday” deals didn’t kick in until 5:00 am.

At 5:10 a.m., the only parking spots available were located furthest from the main entrance doors. More than 800 shoppers filled the store clamoring for the best deals of the day. The hottest items were 32-inch to 50-inch flat-screen TVs, the game Rock Band and a laptop computer priced at less than $200.
