Cruisin’ for a bruisin’, kinda, in Avon
Avon, CO Colorado
AVON, Colorado ” The drunk man in Avon, Colorado tried telling police who he was, and how bad he could beat them up, but he never followed through on his promise. He was taken to jail and held down by four sheriff’s deputies and an Avon police officer before he had the chance to beat them up, as he so passionatelythreatened earlier in the evening.
He started his tirade at Avon Liquors earlier that afternoon on Jan. 27. Employees said he came in around 2:30 p.m. and was already drunk, so the clerks wouldn’t serve him. They told him to leave and he did.
But he came back two hours later, this time more belligerent, yelling and screaming at customers, the police report said. The store still wouldn’t sell him and alcohol and again told him to leave. He started to leave, but only made it to the door, where employees said he stood in the entrance and greeted customers with shoulder bumps as they walked in. He was warned to leave for good, and that if he came back he’d be met by the cops.
Police said he was kicking and screaming the whole ride to Eagle County’s jail, and was screaming threats. He also kicked the cruiser’s door and was banging his head against the divider in the car. That’s all the damage he caused, though.
Four deputies and the police officer hauled him from the car to the jail, and for the trouble they went through, the man was charged with second-degree burglary, disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental services.
