CU-Boulder researcher tests positive for TB
DENVER ” The University of Colorado says a research associate at the Boulder campus has tested positive for tuberculosis and is under voluntary home quarantine.
The school says 39 students who were in the researchers’ summer class are being advised to get checked for the disease.
Health officials are awaiting the results of tests on the researcher to determine whether the infection is drug-resistant.
The researcher’s name wasn’t released. University spokesman Bronson Hilliard says the person works in the education school and lives in Denver.
Hilliard says officials don’t know how the person contracted TB.
Health officials say they don’t believe the case represents a threat to the student body.
