CU investigates hazing allegation by sorority
BOULDER, Colorado – The University of Colorado is investigating whether Alpha Phi sorority members forced underage freshmen to drink alcohol last week.
CU spokesman Bronson Hilliard says the hazing allegation was reported “through students’ interactions” with their resident advisers. He told the Camera newspaper that to his knowledge, no one was hospitalized or injured due to the drinking.
Earlier this year, an Alpha Phi sorority sister suffered internal injuries and broken bones after falling from the roof of the three-story sorority house. She was later cited for underage drinking.
The sorority’s national office was closed Saturday, and a phone message seeking comment wasn’t immediately returned.
