Cyclist died of blunt force trauma on Tennessee Pass

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – An autopsy performed on Jim Deblois, the Ride the Rockies participant who died on Monday, shows the cause of death-as blunt force trauma to the head and chest. The injuries were most likely sustained during a bike crash; however, there were no witnesses. The 67-year-old Cape Girardeau, Mo. man was found on U.S. Highway 24 outside of Minturn, on the descent of Tennessee Pass.

Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis has ruled the manner of death as an accident.
