BRECKENRIDGE ” District Attorney Mark Hurlbert issued an arrest warrant for Dennis Rodman Wednesday morning after the former NBA basketball star failed to show up for his court date in Breckenridge.

The Colorado State Patrol ticketed Rodman for reckless driving and speeding in late July as he drove his custom-made Lamborghini through Summit County.

Rodman, 44, was given a court summons with an appearance date of Wednesday morning at 8:30.

“We kind of expected him because he didn’t make any contact with us or an attorney did not contact us,” Hurlbert said. “He did not show up, so a warrant for his arrest was issued.”

Rodman also neglected to exercise his option of pleading his case by mail.

Rodman’s warrant is only good within Colorado, Hurlbert said. That means if Rodman is pulled over in the state, he’ll be taken to jail in whichever county he is located, then he can post his $2,500 bond and will be given a second court date in Summit County.

Later that afternoon, Rodman was pulled over again in western Colorado for allegedly driving 89 miles per hour on the interstate. He was also accused of skipping out on his gas bill and stealing a hat from a Glenwood Springs convenience store.

An anonymous fan later repaid the store for Rodman’s bill and no charges were filed.

Rodman’s agent did not return a phone call requesting comment.
