Dachshund awaiting adoption stolen from Boulder shelter

BOULDER, Colo. – Police say a Dachshund puppy awaiting adoption at a Humane Society shelter in Boulder was stolen by three people after they were told they couldn’t meet any animals.

The theft happened Aug. 12 when two men and a woman visited the shelter just before closing time. They were told it was too late to see any animals, and then shortly therafter they sped away in a four-door green sedan.

Shelter workers later noticed the missing puppy, named Ferris, valued at $250. Police released video surveillance of the trio in hopes of finding the dognappers. One frame shows a white woman with blonde hair carrying Ferris.
