Dance patrons regaled with Chinese themes
VAIL The Far East infiltrated Ford Park at the International Dance Festival. The first night of the International Evenings of Dance and the annual Patrons Thank You party, hosted by the Vail Valley Foundation, is always a celebratory event, and usually one of the high points of the summer.
The guests always excitedly anticipate the creative strokes of Social Events Manager Arte Davies, who plans and decorates for the event, and this year left no one disappointed.A 30-foot-long Chinese dragon greeted the guests, and the tent glittered in a crimson glow by the light of Chinese lamps. Whirled Peas catering served Asian-influenced food, The performances were inspired, capping off an excellent run by Artistic Director Katharine Kersten, who will be leaving the organization this year.
