Dance with the Hot Tomatoes in Vail

VAIL, Colorado – The Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra and a professional swing dance couple will descend on Lionshead on tonight with their authentic re-creations of music by the greats of the swing era, including Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Harry James. The free concert, including classic big band tunes and swing dance instruction, is presented by the Vail Jazz Foundation and Ritz-Carlton Residences.The performance will begin with classic tunes from the swing era and will continue with big band sound complemented by dancing and swing instruction. Completing the big band experience are award-winning swing dancers Tiffiny Wine and Kenny Nelson. The professional swing dancers high-energy performance will complete the experience, and a dance floor will be available for the not-so-shy to swing the night away. “We are excited to return to the Vail Jazz Festival,” said dancer Tiffiny Wine. “The festival has such a rich history and it’s nice to share the art of swing with enthusiastic folks.”The outdoor venue is located in the inner courtyard just outside the Arrabelle hotel in Lionshead. With tented seating for 200 people, the concerts are presented rain or shine.The final Jazz at Vail Square concert also kicks off the 15th annual Labor Day weekend party, hosted at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort and in Vail Square Sept. 3-7, and features Ann Hampton Callaway, Jeff Hamilton Trio, Wycliffe Gordon, Byron Stripling and many other great jazz musicians.
