Deadline is Monday for Eagle Town Board candidate petitions
EAGLE — Eagle residents interested in serving on the Eagle Town Board have until 5 p.m. Monday to turn in their nomination petitions.
There are five openings on the seven-member board this spring — the mayor’s seat and four town board positions. The reason for the high turnover is a number of resignations during the past two years. Three of the town board seats will be for four-year terms, one will be for a two-year term. The mayor seat will be for a four-year term.
According to Eagle Town Clerk Jenny Rakow, only one petition had been turned in by Friday although several people have picked up the paperwork. Max Schmidt is the only town board candidate who has formally submit a petition.
Candidates can obtain official nomination petitions at Eagle Town Hall. They must collect signatures from 10 registered voters and return the completed petition form by 5 p.m. Monday.
For more information, call Rakow at 970-328-6354.
