Dear doc: A Christmas poem
Vail CO, Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” Editor’s note: In lieu of his regular column, Dr. Drew Werner shares a Christmas poem
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through our land
Good people were feeling the changes at hand
The stockings were hung, the trees all aglow
It is time to be thankful for more than we know
We are blessed with our homes, and roofs over our heads
We can sleep every night in warm, comfortable beds
Our health is a gift, like the freedom we share
To keep it that way, let us thank those that cannot be here
Our children grow up fast, cherish with them your time
I wish them all the best in your home and mine.
Don’t take for granted your family and your friends
They’ll be there for you ’till the very end.
Open your heart to the spirit of Christmas that’s almost here
I hope you carry it with you throughout the New Year.
Exercise and eating well are both good for you,
But I know faith and prayers are important too!
A plaque in our home quite simply reads
If you are lucky enough to live here, that is all that you need.
So wake every morning and just look about,
We live in God’s country with the elk and the greenback cutthroat trout.
Make a healthy resolution for the New Year to come
Be good to yourself as well to everyone.
It is an honor and privilege to share my words with you
Keep your questions coming; I’ll see what I can do!
Have a merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
