Debrah Joy Newton, 1951-2010, former Vail Valley resident
Vail, CO Colorado
Former Vail Valley resident Debrah Joy Newton of Tucson, Ariz., passed away Monday morning.
She was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Russell and Janet Millage on April 9, 1951.
Debrah grew up in Colorado. She was a curious and adventurous woman. Her journey led her to the Mobile, Ala., where she fell in love and married Stephen, and they moved to Colorado.
Debrah and Stephen Newton settled and lived in the Vail Valley for 10 years. For eight of those years, they owned and operated PharmaTech Services, a compounding-only pharmacy located in the Vail Daily building from 1996-2004. Debe deeply valued the patients and people who worked with her to make the pharmacy a successful locally owned business.
Their journey led them eventually to Tucson. She loved animals and being with the people who appreciated the little things in life. Her long battle with breast cancer took her life, and she’s free of pain. She’s in heaven with her savior, Jesus, talking and throwing a tennis ball to her beloved Labrador retriever, Hallie.
Debrah is survived by her husband, Stephen; her mother, siblings and many good friends. The memorial service and reception will start at 1 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80226.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: Lutheran Medical Foundation, 8300 W. 38th Ave., Wheatridge, CO 80003 or Cat Care Society (non-euthanizing animal Shelter) https://www.networkforgood.org/donation/ExpressDonation.aspx?ORGID2=840869447.
