Delphi posts $127 million loss in first 54 days of bankruptcy protection

TROY, Mich. – Delphi Corp. on Friday reported a $127 million net loss for its first 54 days in bankruptcy protection.The Troy-based company reported $2.9 billion in sales for the period from Oct. 8 to Nov. 30. Of that, $1.7 billion, or 57 percent, came from General Motors Corp., which spun off Delphi in 1999.The report from the world’s largest auto supplier was submitted to U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York to meet the court’s monthly reporting requirement. It was also filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.The report offered no comparisons with prior years, when earnings were released only quarterly.
