Denver airport traffic down 3.3 percent for April
DENVER – Denver International Airport says its passenger traffic dipped again in April but at a smaller rate than in the previous two months.
Airlines have been trimming capacity in the recession, and the number of flight operations at the airport also fell during the month.
The airport said Tuesday that 3.94 million travelers passed through the airport in April, down 3.3 percent from April 2008.
Through April, 15.4 million passengers used the airport, down 5.1 percent from 16.3 million travelers in the same period last year.
The airport says there were 49,087 flight operations in April, down 4.7 percent from April 2008.
Through April, operations numbered 198,622, down 3.8 percent from the same period last year.
