GOLDEN, Colorado ” A 38-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to burning her Yorkshire terrier to death by tying it on top of a hot stove.
Tanya Marie Martin pleaded guilty to aggravated animal cruelty in the death of her 6-year-old dog named Bobo. Martin had previously pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity but she changed her plea Wednesday.
Martin will be sentenced June 4. She is free on $10,000 bail and undergoing mental health care as a condition of her bond.
Martin was arrested last October after police say a neighbor called and reported that Martin had put Bobo on top of a burning telephone book on a lighted stove. Bobo died a few days later.
