Denver bands on stage in Avon Saturday night
VAIL CO, Colorado
Two talented Denver bands for the price of none will be featured at Loaded Joe’s Saturday. Otto von Cousticon formed in early 2011, when guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Jeff Wiencrot (Rooster Brothers, The Still City) asked drummer Kim Baxter (Rooster Brothers, Elin Palmer, Chella Negro) to work with him again, this time on a new indie pop project. Keyboardist Andrew Porter (4H Royalty, Lafayette) joined soon after, and the band began working to create a sound that is catchy, fun, intelligent and influenced by rock, pop, and classic soul music.
Sharing the stage with Otto Von Cousticon will be Chella Negro. Originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin, folk singer-songwriter Chella Negro relocated to Colorado in August 2000. Though spending the majority of the past decade living in Denver has certainly informed her songs with a spirit that can only be lifted from the ubiquitous concrete and glass of the city, the soul of a life spent growing up in a midwestern town remains the heartbeat of the music. Reflected in her singing simultaneously are the pain of heartbreak, the joy and wonder of life, and the wisdom gained from experiencing both. Chella Negro faithfully carries the torch of singer-songwriter folk music past and current.
The music will start around 9 p.m. There is no cover for this show, and is a 21 and over show. For more information visit http://www.loadedjoes.com.
