DENVER, Colorado ” Joe Biden showed up at Boney’s Barbecue for lunch, ordering five pulled pork sandwiches with his wife, brother and three children amid a throng of people taking pictures, videos and screaming out his name.

It is the first appearance for Biden in Denver as he prepares to deliver his speech Wednesday as Barack Obama’s vice presidential pick.

The appearance at Boney’s was arranged this morning, according to Boney’s owner Trina Lynch.

“They told us to be ready this morning and we were thrilled,” she said. “We’re all Obama supporters.”

Biden didn’t say much while he ordered, but did take some time to stand behind the counter and pose for photos with Lynch, her husband Lamont and her mother Mary Brown. The pictures were taken with Brown’s camera.

Biden then left with his family. His plans for this evening? To watch Michelle Obama’s speech.
