Denver boy shot, wounded; parents arrested
Denver, CO Colorado
DENVER – A 3-year-old Denver boy has been shot and wounded and his parents have been arrested.
Denver police say the boy was shot once in the leg Sunday night and is in serious condition. It’s not clear whether investigators believe the shooting was accidental.
His father, 29-year-old William Thalley, was arrested on suspicion of child abuse resulting in serious injury. His mother, 25-year-old Nicole Fernandez, was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to child abuse after the fact.
It’s not known whether they have attorneys.
Police say the parents told them the child was shot by an unknown man at an intersection, but investigators believe he was shot in the family’s home.
