Denver couple donates $3M to support national park
DENVER, Colorado ” A Denver couple has donated $3 million to the nonprofit organization that supports Rocky Mountain National Park.
Edith London died in April 2007 at age 89, with the Rocky Mountain Nature Association as the primary beneficiary of her will.
She and her late husband, John, fled the Nazis during World War II and pledged never to return to Europe and never to bring children into a world that had been so cruel.
John London became an engineer for General Motors. Edith London was an accountant for sugar beet companies.
John London died in October 2001 at age 85.
Most of the couple’s donation will go toward education. Their gift puts the association within $6 million of reaching its goal of a $10 million endowment.
