Denver: Dem convention protestors given directions

DENVER, Colorado ” The city of Denver has designated a route where protesters and groups can march during the Democratic National Convention.

Mayor John Hickenlooper says the route released Thursday is meant to provide people access with minimal disruption to traffic, downtown businesses, residents and visitors.

The route will be open all four days of the convention, Aug. 25-28, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The route starts on the north side of Colfax Avenue in the westbound traffic lanes at Bannock Street, goes west toward Speer Boulevard, north on the southbound lanes of Speer to Larimer Street. The route will end within walking distance of the demonstration zone in the Pepsi Center parking lot.
