Denver: Head-on crash kills woman driving wrong way

LAKEWOOD, Colorado ” The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the cause of a wrong-way crash on U.S. 285 that left one woman dead.
The collision occurred in suburban Lakewood about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.
CSP spokesman Trooper Gilbert Mares says the woman was driving a Mitsubishi sedan when she took a wrong ramp to get onto U.S. 285, and ended up heading south in the northbound lane.
The Mitsubishi then collided head-on with a northbound Toyota sport utility vehicle.
The driver of the Mitsubishi was killed. The Toyota driver was taken to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood with moderate injuries.
No names have been released.
