Denver: Inmate indicted in Darrent Williams murder

DENVER, Colorado “-Willie Clark has been indicted for first degree murder for the New Year’s Day 2007 shooting of Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.
The case – the city’s highest profile unsolved murder – has been linked to members of a drug dealing street gang through a car involved in the shooting. Someone in an SUV fired into a limousine Williams was riding in after a confrontation at a nightclub New Year’s Eve celebration.
Earlier this year, the Rocky Mountain News obtained a copy of a letter apparently signed by a 26-year-old gang member that says he fired the shots that killed Williams.
The letter was signed by Willie D. Clark, who is in custody as a suspect in a drug dealing ring.
