Denver: Police search for killer of prosecutor
DENVER, Colorado ” Police have launched a massive search for the killer of a prosecutor who was gunned down outside his northwest Denver home.
Police say Adams County Chief Deputy District Attorney Sean May was confronted by a man in his late teens or early 20s who shot May several times Wednesday evening. May was pronounced dead at a Denver hospital hours later.
Witnesses say the gunman was seen running from the home after the shooting. He was wearing a black baseball cap, knee-length cargo pants, and a white T-shirt.
May was in the county’s child victims unit and was admitted to the bar in 1998.
“Sean May was an extraordinary prosecutor, public servant and friend,” said U.S. Attorney Troy Eid in a written statement. “Colorado is better because Sean lived, loved and protected us.”
