Denver Post: At the job interview, the clothes do make the man

The guy in baggy cargo shorts did not get the job.
Nor did the guy in the absurdly ill-fitting suit.
Both interviewed for different jobs with Tina Hudson, a human resources executive at Ball Corp., a big aerospace company based in Broomfield.
And you, dude, will not bag a professional gig either if you don’t dress right for the job interview.
“Everything counts when the competition is tough,” Hudson said. “It counts even more, now.”
It was hard enough to get the right position back when the economy was a snarling, charging beast, a machine demanding more and more workers every day. Now, it’s much different.
“If a B game was going to get you a job in 2008, it takes an A game now,” said Stephen Wood, executive vice president of human resources at Dish Network in Englewood.
“You need every single card in the hand, and how you present yourself is one of those cards.”
