Denver Post says it retains most Rocky Mountain News subscribers
DENVER – The Denver Post says it has retained 86 percent of the Rocky Mountain News’ former home-delivery customers.
The figure was included in the Post’s first full six-month report to the Audit Bureau of Circulations since the News closed in March.
Post publisher William Dean Singleton, chairman of MediaNews Group, had said he hoped to retain 80 percent of News subscribers.
The report for the six months ending Sept. 30 also showed circulation drops of 5 percent to 8 percent compared to the one-month average after the News closed.
Circulation for The Sunday Denver Post was reported at 495,485; The Saturday Post, 410,358; and Monday through Friday, 340,949.
