Denver will share $2.4 million for solar energy
DENVER, Colorado ” Denver is among 12 cities selected this year as Solar America Cities that each will receive $200,000 from the Energy Department to integrate solar energy technologies.
Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman made the announcement Friday at Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar’s third annual energy summit.
Thirteen other Solar America Cities were chosen last year.
President Bush has set a goal to make solar power cost competitive with conventional electricity by 2015.
At Salazar’s New Frontiers in Energy Summit, Bodman also stressed the need for a diverse supply of clean, sustainable, secure energy.
