Dine, dance on Valentine’s Day

Daily Staff Report

BEAVER CREEK – The Vilar Center for the Arts and Rocks Modern Grill have teamed up to offer a romantic Valentine’s celebration with an evening of dining and dancing. Rocks Modern Grill is located in the newly renovated Beaver Creek Lodge, just steps from the Vilar Center. Restaurant patrons making reservations for the 5:30 p.m. early seating will be treated to a $45 four-course prix fixe menu that includes several dining choices. At 7:30 p.m., the Vilar Center presents the world-renowned Royal Winnipeg Ballet in its contemporary dance adaptation of Mozart’s romantic tale “The Magic Flute.”The ensemble is highly praised and has earned respect for its contemporary adaptations of classic stories, introducing modern audiences around the world to the timelessness of Mozart while holding their attention with beautiful dancers, stunning sets and atypical costuming. “This is really a coup for us to present this company,” said Vilar Center director Kris Sabel. “Their reputation in the dance world is tremendous, and I think people will be surprised by how fun this ballet is. The costuming, sets and lighting we’ve seen are out of this world.” The piece is choreographed by Mark Godden and designed by Paul Daigle, the same creative team that brought the much-touted “Dracula” to ballet lovers. Dinner reservations at Rocks Modern Grill may be made by calling 845-1730. Tickets to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet may be purchased through the Vilar Center Box Office at 845-TIXS (8497) or online at http://www.vilarcenter.org.Vail, Colorado
