Sen. Campbell, as an Eagle County commissioner, I am deeply disappointed in your position on Referendum A.
All your Western Slope legislators except for Sen. Entz voted against state Senate bill 236, and every Western Slope state representative voted against it.
The Natural Resources Committee of Club 20, Colorado River District and Northwest Council of Government’s QQ voted against it. Chip Berry of Denver Water Authority said simply, “They don’t need it.” As you know, congressmen McInnis and Udall oppose it for the same reasons as we all do.
You have somehow found some benefit that we could not. Please share what you know with the rest of us since your views reveal so little so far. I wish to believe that our U.S. senators are representative of the people who work hard for Colorado’s future, such as your Western Slope elected officials. Please be a statesman and reconsider your position or somehow enlighten us. Arn Menconi
