Disney Institute coming to Vail Sept. 22
Its not Disney characters, but the business leaders behind the successful company who are coming to Vail. The Vail Chamber and Business Association, along with Vail Resorts and the town of Vail are bringing the Disney Institute to Vail for a one-day program Sept. 22 at the Vail Marriott. Vail is the only ski resort in North America and the only town within a 100-mile radius to offer this exclusive training program. Since 1986, Walt Disney World Resort has hosted millions of business people from 35 countries and 40 industries in a variety of professional development programs and workshops. These programs take professionals behind the scenes to meet with Walt Disney World Resort management and explore the topics of people management, quality service, loyalty, leadership excellence and managing for creativity.Since 1995, The Disney Keys to Excellence combined the core content from these programs into a one-day session.The Keys to Excellence program has four core topics: Leadership, Disney style; Management, Disney style; Service, Disney style; and Loyalty, Disney style. In the leadership portions, participants can how effective leadership has been the catalyst at Disney to drive employee and customer satisfaction and bottom-line results. Topics include communicating a compelling vision, building involvement and ownership, organizing for maximum involvement and capitalizing on change. The management course helps people understand the importance of integrating a corporate culture into selection, training and care. Topics to be discussed include establishing a culture through learning by design, selecting and hiring right-fit employees, training and motivating employees and creating a supportive environment.In Service, Disney style, participants will learn about Disneys principles for service excellence. Topics include developing a service philosophy, learning tools to support a service culture and delivering on the service theme.The Loyalty, Disney style portion of the day will help participants learn key practices and principles in building and sustaining loyalty that have made Disney a trusted and revered brand around the world. Topics include the business case for loyalty and strategies for creating loyalty.In the Vail Chamber and Business Associations attempt to bring an ever-changing lineup of programs to the Turn It Up! customer service program, attendance at this event will fulfill training requirements for the Merchant Pass Program. And while the more traditional Turn It Up! classes will still be offered in November, this is a unique and compelling alternative to customer service training. The program wont take place until Sept. 22, but we have already begun marketing the event and are reserving corporate tables and individual seats. First come, first served!
