Wren Wertin
Special to the DailyDJ Freddy Be is from L.A. He spins at Agave tonight.

Active in the underground scene since 1990, Freddy began his DJ career in ’94 ,spinning at the notorious Full Moon Gatherings in Southern California’s remote Mojave Desert. Since then, Be has made his mark on the world of dance culture through a series of well known residencies, raves, special events and appearances internationally.

In 1995, he hooked up with United Kingdom ex-pat Mick Cole to form the Bud Brothers. The Monday Social, their weekly club at the legendary Louis XIV (now at Las Palmas), pioneered the explosive down-tempo scene in L.A.

Today, Be’s style ranges from the dirty, funky, sexy, sounds of deep progressive, house, techno and breakbeat to the tougher, darker scapes of the tribal underground. With the ability to play such a wide range of music, Be has landed gigs playing alongside such renowned DJs and live acts as Moby, Way Out West, Underworld, Leftfield, Chemical Brothers, BT, Basement Jaxx, Fatboy Slim, Paul Oakenfold and more.

Daniel Moontribe opens for Freddy Be. At age 17, he co-founded the Moontribe Collective with Treavor Walton and The Original Electric Skychurch. Every full moon, he and others would host an electronic festival in the Southern California desert.

His DJ style changes with the crowd. His signature set of industrial-strength automatechno, and often blends in deep house or his own electro-fusion.
